The Kite Museum was founded by Bhanubhai Shah for displaying his collection of rare kites, which he built up over 50 years. In this museum you can catch a glimpse of huge kites (around 7 metres by 5 metres or 22 feet by 16 feet). Another kite, which is a major highlight of the museum, is made using 400 pieces of paper. Some of the other kites in this museum were crafted with sequences of garba dances, mirror work and block prints.
The best time to visit the Kite Museum is between the months of October and March. If possible, plan your visit in the month of January, so that it coincides with the popular Kite Festival throughout Gujarat on 14 January.
